前幾天,樂富村宏樂樓的六十個住戶在窗外掛起一米闊的綠色方巾,表達他們的反戰心聲;

1. 到以下網址下載綠色方型,貼在學校、辦公室或家中;
2. 將這行動訊息告訴你的家人及朋友;
3. 協助散發綠窗海報及明信片(可於3月12日起在樂施會辦事處取得);

Dear Oxfam Partners,

Oxfam Documentary on Women
March 8, International Women's Day, 10 - 10:30 pm (TVB Jade)

Oxfam marks International Women's Day with a special 30-min programme featuring several of our projects
in China, Ethiopia and Hong Kong that work to empower women. Learn about an innovative women's cooperative right here in Sham Shui Po. Renowned actresses Maggie Cheung and Angie Chiu, and four Oxfam Partners will also make an appeal on air.

"Green Square Movement"
What do you associate with a "green square"?

A few days ago, over 300 residents of Wang Lok Building in Lok Fu Estate simultaneously draped a 1-metre
square of light green cloth on their windows, immediately transforming the outside wall of the building into a
light-green patterned picture of hope. A window signifies the heart of the whole family and the colour light green
signifies life and hope, against the red of blood and the black of violence brought about by war.

This action is part of the "Green Square Movement", a campaign co-organised by Oxfam Hong Kong and
Greenpeace in an effort to say no to war and give voice to Hong Kong people's wishes for peace.

Oxfam believes that war on Iraq will bring about a serious humanitarian crisis. Wars will critically joepardise
the food distribution system, posing huge risks to millions, in particular the vulnerable groups such as children
and the elderly. Water and sanitation systems will be endangered as electricity stations are bound to be put out
of operation and water treatment plants shut down, fueling a further spread of diarrhoea and respiratory diseases
and triggering epidemics.  In fact, Iraq is already in the midst of a very grave humanitarian situation. Over
15 million people in Iraq (more than half of the country's 22 million population) are totally dependent on food
rations for survival, and close to one million children under the age of five suffer from chronic malnutrition,
a consequence of the Gulf War and the economic sanctions.

Would you like to call for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Iraq with us?

With a green square, you can voice out your wishes:
1. See the links below to download the square and post it in your homes, offices, and schools;
2. Tell your family, friends, and colleagues about this action;
3. Distribute postcards and posters of the green square (can be picked up at the Oxfam office starting 12th March);
4. We will hold a public launch of the Green Square Movement on 13th March (Thursday) at 1:00pm at Central.
If you can help us in the preparation work, or you can join the event that day, please contact Ms. Rebecca Wong
at 3120 5284 or email to hiuman@oxfam.org.hk immediately.

We also invite you to join a rally organised by the Hong Kong No War Coalition to once again voice out our
wishes for peace.  This will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, 15th March, at the Chater Garden, Central, Hong Kong.

We are looking forward to your replies!

Sincerely,

Chong Chan Yau
